I have on the last line of startup in msconfig (XP home)which I would like
to remove. It is a message oon my desktop on bootupsaying that it can't find
a file. The file has NO Name only 7 empty boxes space 14 empty boxes. When I
click to close another box turns up with the same empty boxes, only the
message says to look in the registry When I tested msconfig in diognostic
and removed the file from the last line and booted, the message was gone but
it only works if I stay in "diognostic". Pleaselet me know id you can help.
The problemoriginated after I had the blaster and Norton removed it
successfully!

Applications that start with Windows can be found here:
- the WIN.INI, section [windows], entries "run=" and "load="
- the Registry keys
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\RunServices
- the folders
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL USERS\START MENU\PROGRAMS\STARTUP
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\{username}\START MENU\PROGRAMS\STARTUP
Remove the invalid items manually.
