How do I set up my computer to password protect from someone else using it
when I am not around?
I use XP Home Edition...
I knew how to do it with Win 98 SE but can figure it out with XP...
Thanks,
Joe

Press WinKey + L to lock the screen.
To unlock, type in your Windows account password.

can you password protect with only one account on the computer?
Can you make the system administrator account password protected or do you
have to have a second account?
sorry for all the questions...

Go into users control panel applet. Set a password.
Do start->run->control userpasswords2. Enable the option "Users must enter
user name..."
Go to the display panel applet. On the screen save tab, enable the "Welcome
screen option".
Lastly, make sure you use a strong password.

1. Go to Control Panel and double-click User Accounts icon
2. Select your user account and click Change My Password
3. Set a password for yourself
From now on you will get prompted for a password to unlock the screen.
