I am having two problems. The first-when I open a
document to look at it and do not make any changes to it
and I close it, it asks if I want to save the changes
but I didn't amke any changes.
Second-again when I open a document and close it. It
says" NORMAL was being edited by another word session. If
you save it with the original name, you will overwrite any
changes." If I say yes it says" changes have been made
that affect the global template NORMAL. Do you want to
save the changes anyway?"
Can you help me? Thank you.MY email Address is

> It says when i go to close word, changes made to the blanks page or not,
"The file Normal already exists. Do you want to replace the existing file"
then if you say no and go to close word again it prompts you with "Changes
have been made that affect the global template, Normal. do you want to save
the changes?" and if you say no again, the program will close. why is it
prompting this. and how do i go about using the information in the first
link that you gave me. i.e. how do I change the Saved property of the file
normal.dot?? Thank you for your help up to now its been greatly appreciated

It is word 2002 I think the first link you gave me in the previous reply would fix it just i dont have anything in the "microsoft office tools" folder called word 2002 support template. nothing in there seems to have anything to do with templates....
