Don't think you are off the hook !
There is a virus that uses SHIMGVW.DLL .
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.perrun.html
Please go to McAfee (http://www.mcafee.com/myapps/mfs/default.asp) and/or Trend
(http://housecall.antivirus.com ) and perform an online scan of your platform then report
back your results.

| This message may be usefull to someone...
| Thanks to Photos newsgroup I found solution for lost functionality (jpeg files: summary
tab in properties came back and Scanner and Camera wizard: autoplay came back) by running
regsvr32 shimgvw.dll
| BUT...
| after this I lost system sounds! System beep changed, startup, exit and other events
sounds stopped playing.
| Sounds and music through other applications worked fine (Control panel sounds themes, CD,
DVD, Media Player etc).
| I started searching in Music newsgroup and finally I found something that works by editing
Registry:
| If you are comfortable with editing the registry, run regedit and navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER, if the (Default) is blank in the "Data" column, right-click and delete
the entry. Xp will immediately rebiuld it with the correct value "Value not set".
| I hope that the problems stop here and nothing else will come up.
| Finally, I want to thank everybody who spend time reading other people's problems and
suggesting solutions.
