I'm Trying to delete an entry in the registry caused by
the virus Backdoor.Kaitex
When I type regedit in the run window and click ok the
new window comes up but does not stay open. It shuts
immediately so that I cannot navigate to the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE etc. line to delete the entry "Task
Reg" from the registry. In short I cannot gain access to
the registr to make any changes???
What to do ??

Look at.

w32.spybot worm disables NAV, Msconfig, Regedit and Task Manager:
http://www.bitdefender.com/bd/site/virusinfo.php?menu_id=1&v_id=114
Try this to:
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.spybot.worm.html
Rename regedit.exe to regedit.com then:
Download then Merge the edit on line 251 then delete all the files mentioned
in the above link.

If you haven't already fixed this yet, you can make a .reg file.
If you would like to know how to do this, email me
