My friends computer has recently started booting up and producing the blue
screen of death announcing that it is unable to mount the boot disk (or so i
am informed). How should i deal with this, because in the end it will be me
that has to deal with it!

Thanks

Martin

Martin;
Power off, open the case and reseat the hard drive IDE ribbon cable at
both ends.
If that fails:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=297185
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=315403

Otherwise go to the website of the hard drive manufacturer and
download their hard drive diagnostics.
