Microsoft Encarta is surprising good considering it's publisher. However =
it's always unwise to trust companies who publish and have other =
business interest. MS has shown no talent for ethics.

For a dictionary, I simply use http://www.merriam.com/

The recent edition of Microsoft Encarta 2004 has a much better encyclopedia
& dictionary than previously. You can load the whole program on hard disk if
desired, but it does take a huge amount of space for that.
