I have just examined, via Control panel, User Accounts and to my surprise I
now see I have a user account called ASP.NET which is also password
protected. A Google search revealed that ASP = Active Service Page.

Can anyone please tell me how this account got set up, what's its purpose
and what is my best cause of action? BTW to the best of my (XP limited)
knowledge I didn't set it up. (My system is protected by NAV and Norton
Firewall). Thanks to those who respond to the Newsgroup (my email address
is fictitious).

Hi

That account would have been created when you installed .NET Framework. =
It is really only used by programmers and a very few programs - one of =
which is Drive Image 7. You can either leave it there or delete it via =
Control Panel>User Accounts.
