I have installed the beta of SP2. The latest ie patch gives me an error
message saying it can be run only on ie 6 sp1. My ie version is now 6 sp 2
according to help about. Being that there were at least one critical update
in the latest patch, I would like to get it applied. Does anyone have any
ideas?

Thanks in advance.

SP2 for Windows XP is scheduled to be released sometime mid-2004.
Since SP2 for Windows XP is strictly in the beta testing stage,
there is no support for it unless you are a Microsoft approved
beta tester and subscribe to the Microsoft SP2 beta testing
newsgroups. If you are not a beta tester, than do not install
SP2 beta and wait until the final released version becomes
available sometime mid-2004.

What it means is that if one is supposed to have access
to a beta then one has access to the correct place to discuss
the beta, and as sometimes happens to download the versions
of patches released for the beta bits.

I guess I'm pretty much SOL is what you're saying.
