Desktop pan & scan

I just installed WindowsXP on a new system I built. The
desktop seems wider and taller than my screen. The mouse
pans or scans and moves the windows up and down or side
to side so I can see what I'm doing.

Is this something that is new in WinXP or is it my new
video card that is doing this. How do I make it so that
one window fits exactly in the screen like Win98?

AllStar:
This is your vid card setting. Right click on the desktop, chose properties,
Settings, and slide the arrow a notch to the left. See if this helps. If
still to large, one more notch.
