XP...Execution parameters in file opening

I have xp. When I try to load files from windows 98 via
floppy disk, some open just fine. Some say
"the file...as specified in the execution parameters
cannot be opened"

Two things:

First, the only thing I can find on this message is for Corel Word Perfect
8, where the problem has to do with having spaces in the file names.

Second, floppy disks are notoriously unreliable, so that could also be a
problem.
