I just had XP home installed (clean). When I hooked up
my monitor, the windows xp screen came up and loaded but
then the monitor screen went blank. They fixed it by by-
passing the plug and play and specifying the name of the
monitor manually (it was an older monitor). After that,
it worked, until I used the shut down/restart option.
Every time I do that, when it restarts, the monitor
screen goes blank again. If I use the on/off switch on
the processor to shut down and turn it back on with that
switch, it works fine. Then they told me my monitor was
too small (14in screen) to work with xp, so i got a new
17inch screen monitor and it is still doing the same
thing. This is really frustrating and not good for the
computer to be shut down and restarted this way, I'm
sure. Any suggestions...? Cant find this problem
anywhere and it seems like for the price I paid for this
software, I should be able to talk to a real microsoft
person....
