View Full Version : Unwanted Icons appear on desktop

I have an Icon with a title of ~ on my desktop, I have
deleted it and it comes back. What is causing it and how
do I permantly remove it.

Herb,
The tilde (~) is a result of this patch:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/critical/330994/default.asp
The file is created when certain changes are made to your address book.
The files can be safely deleted.

So Ramesh.. How do we delete that icon permanetly without eliminating the
critical microsoft patch? or can we?

I don't think its possible as of now. We shd wait till Microsoft releases
next update.
