I have been using Netmeeting successfully in Win Xp. Since Yesterday, I am
unable to connect because the Receive Video function is not accessible
(greyed out). I have disabled the internet network firewall. The
administrator settings are set to permit receive video. The automatically
receive video option is allowed in net meeting video options. All the other
options including the audio & others in netmeeting are accessible.
I have installed the windows update for IE (the latest one on automatic
update) yesterday. Could that have caused the problem?
Pl help.
Thank u.

What happened yesterday? -- if your capablity changed then something in your
system or network must have changed.

You have been unable to connect to what?
The Receive Video menu item is a pause/play toggle on incoming video and is
only accessible when in a call with the other end is apparently sending or
capable of sending video.
Is that when you are attempting to use it?
When you have not receipt of video do you receive audio from the other end?

What firewall is that -- you are referring to the XP firewall? Are you
behind a router of some kind? Where is the party you are trying to connect
to ( outside your LAN?)

Not that I am aware of.

Changes:
1) Installed the latest Windows update; it pertains to security in IE.
2) During installation of Mozilla Firebird browser, encountered some
problems, so tried System Restore feature to a previous date. However, that
did not help so restored back to the original.
You have been unable to connect to what?
Unable to connect with one of the contacts, with whom I regularly contact
using net- audio & video. This contact has a functioning web cam. In fact, I
could talk & see the video from this contact in net, in win 98 SE. My
computer has dual operating systems - (98 SE, & XP). It is in Win XP, that
I am unable to receive the video.

Is that when you are attempting to use it?
Yes, when I am attempting to use it; and the contact has a functioning and
compatible web, which he has used so far & the camera is active when used in
Win 98 SE.
When you have not receipt of video do you receive audio from the other end?
Neither audio nor video but the audio options are not grayed out.
I have disabled the internet network firewall.
The inherent firewall in Win XP. Not behind a router.
