does anyone know how to get rid of the version of messenger that was
installed with xp. I have gone to win add remove/ win features and
removed messenger, checked all the options for it not to start up, not
to inform me or anything. but the dam thing still launches logging me
out of the new one. I know I could go in and delete the folder, but
would like to remove it completely not just deleate it, microsoft and
the new messenger suk really hard on this point where every time u
upgrade mesenger it just installs another one leaving the old one
intact. it doesnt show up in regcleaner the new one does however.
wny help wold be much appreiceated(sp)

There are 2 (two) messenger programs. The one that shipped with XP is =
Windows Messenger. The other is MSN messenger. You can only be logged =
into 1 (one) at any time. They serve different purposes. Keep Windows =
Messenger drop the other (my opinion).
