Hello folks,
just wondering if any of you may be able to help with
this. I have had some software in the past that I no
longer use and have uninstalled. However, I find when I
run msconfig, that there are still those start items
listed there. I have them unchecked but I would like to
be able to delete them entirely from the list. Is there a
way to achieve that?
Thanks folks in advance of your reply.

Entries you have disabled with MSCONFIG.EXE are found in the Registry
keys
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\services
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared
Tools\MSConfig\startupfolder
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg

Hi Dave,

Clear Disabled Items from Msconfig Startup (Line 148)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

If you have decided not to remove all disabled items, run this script after
closing msconfig, but before rebooting.

Stop the Selective Startup Screen (Line 173)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Or...remove the runkeys from here: Start/Run/Regedit

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run --
All the Best,
Kelly
