Auto Run Feature

I run Windows XP - for some reason the auto run feature
on my CD & DVD drives has been switched off. My digital
camera now also does not automatically start as it should
do. I have done everything obvious - checked in the
relevant devices the action that should be taken - but
still nothing. Any ideas?
