Status bar

I know I am not the only one with this request so here
goes. I would like the status bar to be permanently fixed
in all My Computer windows/folder windows and Internet
Explorer. Don't like this new "feature" of removing the
status bar. Can't find info about this. Maybe just
impatient. Suggestions?

The trick is to get a folder looking the way you want it to look and then
apply that look to all folders. To do this, open Windows Explorer and get
a folder configured the way you want it as far as appearance goes. Don't
forget to make sure the status bar is showing. In that folder select
Tools, Folder Options and go to the View tab. In the list of Advanced
settings make sure that "remember each folder's view settings" is checked.
Then click the button that reads "Apply to All Folders." That should do
it.
