cd r/rw will not respond

Help! I upgraded from ME to XP because my cd roms would
start and freeze the system. After upgrade--my cd burner
will not respond--says insert blank cd when there is a cd
inside. I checked the drive and it says it is working
properly and no update/upgrade driver needed.

Hi,

Right-click the drive in Windows Explorer, select properties. Go to the
recording tab and make sure the line enabling recording on this drive is
checked.
