I installed the fax program that comes with Win XP home.
Decided that I didn't want it but could not uninstall. It
is not in the add/remove section. I deleated the folder
that it was in and the .exe file (forget what folder it
was in?). Will I run into problems down the line for doing
it this way? What is the proper way to remove? I tried
system restore to the day before but it wouldn't work. It
is turned on.

Hi,
Control Panel/Add & Remove/Windows Components/Fax services. Deleting any
program is never a good idea.

I didn't see that in there. You have any idea why my
restore to a previous time didn't work.
