user accounts

After setting up my user accounts and outlook express, I
engaged my old AOL account. Now on the welcome screen, it
reads I have 125 unread messages from my aol account and 2
or 3 from my hotmail account. I cleaned out my aol inbox
but get the same message. I want to get rid of AOL
altogether and especially the unread messages on my
welcome screen.
