I am hoping someone can help me. I recently upgraded my computer to Windows XP. The computer has been totally reformatted and I set up all the software. I have a TDK DVD burner and hope to be able to transfer my videos to DVD's. The burner came with so
ftware Roxio Easy DVD creator 6.0. I also purchased a TDK INDI Capture device which came with software called Show Biz. The Capture device which required a USB 2.0 port. I purchased a USB 2.0 port and installed it. I installed the Driver that came with
the Capture device. Connected everything up and the Device Manager signals all is ok. I downloaded updates for Show Biz. Now I thought I could pop in a video......click on Capture in the Show Biz program and then start capturing. Once I clicked on Capt
ure I received a message that Show Biz encountered a problem and had to close. Everytime I made an adjustment to the cords and connections it got worse, to the point that the system was going into crash mode. I tried deleting the USB driver and reinstall
ed. I am at a loss for what the problem is.....since I can capture via firewire to the software I think the main problem is something to do with the USB 2.0.

My system is a rebuilt Dell...Pentium III 450 MHZ. I have a new hard drive partitioned with 60 GB a piece so I don't think it is a memory or space issue.

Thanks for any info

The signal from your firewire takes a completely different path compared to the one from your USB port. I guess you are close when suspecting the USB port. Since this is the easiest to test anyway, I suggest pluging in another USB device like a keyboard or
mouse to make sure your USB is working fine.

As a side note: 450 MHz will prove a little slow for the job. You didn't specify the amount of RAM your PC has... the first thing you will find out editing video is that your hardware resources are limited.
