I have Windows XP.Whenever I bootup, and many times
afterwards, I get the message "MSVD 32i MFC application
has encountered a problem and need to close. We are sorry
for the inconvenience. Please tell Microsoft about this
problem." Well,I did and they say tell Dell! So here I
am. I have found under other newsgroups that it is
because ClientMan (spyware) needs to be removed. They say
to click on REMCLI.ZIP and save it to your hard drive and
then unzip it with Winzip (which costs money)and then
extract. I'm just wondering if this works. I do have
Norton Internet Security which does take out the popup
ads and banners.Does this sound like the solution? I
don't want to download anything that might make matters
worse!

You may be able to just uninstall from add/remove programs in the control
panel. Also, Windows XP has built-in support for zip files, so you don't
need WinZip to use them. (I still like WinZip, and paid for a license long
ago because they aren't that expensive, but you don't need it.)

Winzip comes as a free fully functional demo. If you like it and want to
keep it, then you pay your shareware fee - otherwise uninstall it.

Or you could use XP's builtin feature for unzipping files: Right click on a
ZIP file and select Extract All.

I do not know if the REMCLI.ZIP file contains everything needed to remove
ClientMan. I have never heard of it and I've never had to use it.

There is an article about ClientMan at this PC site:
