Opening floppy

[Victoria]

I typed a 37-page document in my Win 98 "Works" processor
and saved it on a floppy. Now have Win XP and Word
Perfect. Was able to install the floppy in My Documents
but it won't open. Sure hope I don't have to retype the
document. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Do you have the works program on your XP?
If you do, then open the program first, the go to the menu, and open from
the floppy drive.

If you still have the computer with Works installed, open the file there and
save it in a different format. Choose one that the Word Perfect program can
read. Then transfer the newly saved file to disk so that you can copy it
over to the new XP machine.

Open WordPerfect, use the WP open command to browse to the WORKS file and see if WP will open the WORKS file. A Google search for "wordperfect open works wps file" got lots of results, just the first few below.

You might need to download a file converter from Corel.
