My husband deleted his user profile (WinXP Home Ed) from
the user accounts. When he did, all of the files under
his MyDocs are gone. Has anyone come up with a way to
recover these files? I cannot find his profile for
recovery. Most of his files were digital pictures.

Please help.

Hi Kimberly -

The accidentally lost files might still be recoverable.

First, and most importantly . . . if possible, avoid doing anything on
your computer that would cause anything to be written to the disk
where the files used to reside.

Second, go to http://www.undelete.com/downloads/menu.asp and look for
the Deleted File Analysis Utility download. Get this utility --
preferably download it from another computer and copy it onto a floppy
disk, to avoid writing to the disk where the lost files were.

Third, run the Deleted File Analysis Utility to see which files can be
recovered. If the utility comes up with positive results, you can
recover the files with Undelete from Executive Software (available at
www.undelete.com).

I hope this helps -
