I just want to know how to format a floppy disk in A:
drive with XP. "Help" isn't very helpful.

Left click on My Computer then right click on the A: drive icon. Then click on Format and follow the instructions. Oh yeah! Hav a floppy disc in. See Ya!

Igmerrell,
This is what you must do: Put floppy disk in first, then open
MY COMPUTER and then OPEN the A: drive... In the VERY TOP
LEFT corner of the window there is a little ICON in front of the
A:/.. You must RIGHT click that little ICON and then select
FORMAT and a new window will appear asking you in what way
you would like to format it ie: Quick format, etc..
Hope this helps.

My computer. Right click the icon of the drive - take Format.
That only works for 1.44 MB floppies - to format a 720K one, if you
still have any, you have to launch Command Prompt and use
FORMAT A: T:80 /N:9
