I innocently tried to set up a new user on my XP
professional machine. I made that user an administator.
Now the original "administrator" user has disappeared.
All my settings are at the moment unretreivable! Any
help on on/where to find it?

The built-in Administrator Account is hidden by default as soon as you
create a User with Admin rights.
At the welcome screen, press Ctl-Alt-Del twice and the W2K style log-in box
will appear.

BTW, it is NOT a good idea to use the built-in Administrator Account on a
daily basis. Keep it for when (and they will !) emergencies happen. Use the
user account with Admin rights you have created for your day to day use.
