please help me

i just got a brand new computer with windows xp
i have clicked the button so that the taskbar will hide
inactive icons but it doesn't hide them
does anyone know why it won't hide the inactive icons and
how i can fix this?
please help me

Give it time. The system needs to learn which Icons aren't used. Duh!
