Hi, I saw many posting about Lexmark and Win XP and thought I'd share
my recently acquired knowledge with others so they don't get to feel
as stupid as I do right now!
I'd been racking my brain about this problem I had of my Lexmark 1020
not printing with XP. It would start advancing the paper than it
would simply stop and the lights would start flashing. (does it sound
familiar yet?)
It worked with Win 98, so why didn't it work in XP. I tried changing
the printer drivers because I knew it wasn't a hardware problem...
The solution was too simple to be easily seen!!!
I had installed a black ink cartridge only and the properties were set
to use a colour cartridge.
Solution: In printers and Faxes, right click on the desired printer,
select properties, Printing Preferences, Paper Quality, and select
black instead of color.
This solved my problem, hope it will help someopne else.
