When I start my computer and get to the login screen
there is a "outlook message waiting" for an account that
is not active anymore. It indicates in text underneath
the login prompt for an active user but the e-mail
account was set up accidently and deleted. How to I
remove the message indicator....

Hi
You can download TweakUI from =
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp and when =
installed go to Programs>Powertoys for Windows XP>Tweak UI - then go to =
Logon>Unread Mail - disable it in the right hand pane.
Otherwise the Unread Mail can be disabled via the Registry - navigate =
to:
=20
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\UnreadMail\[Y=
our email address], double click on 'MessageCount' - in the right hand =
pane - and change the value to 0(Zero).
***If you do opt for the Registry please 'tweak', please backup the =
Registry first. A very good program to do this - as well as being able =
to restore it - is ERunt:

Thank you. Just didn't know where it resided with my new
XP. Now I won't have to pull out any more hair. I will
get the Tweak UI today.
