With my win 2000 platform, and earleir, there has always
been an icon available to place in the tray for clearing
the desktop.

I have just installed XP professional and cannot find this
icon anywhere. Can anyone help? It is irritating to right
click in the tray everytime to do this task.

Many thanks

Wes,

Thanks for the cleanup info. I had found this.

What I am actually looking for is the icon to clear the
desktop of all the open windows. If you right click on the
task bar at the bottom of your screen and look just above
the task manager selection you can see this selection.
However, there is also an icon that one can place on the
task bar that will do the same thing - That is what I am
trying to find.

Thanks

John

Right click an empty spot on the task bar, point to toolbars and select
quick launch. The show desktop icon should be on the quick launch toolbar.
If for some reason it isn't see http://www.dougknox.com/tips/showdesktop.htm

(kudos to Doug)

Alternatively pressing the Winlogo key + M will minimize all windows.
