Hi,

I wonder why they don't keep their settings, I know for a fact the in Linux when
you set a view and dimension to a folder, that folder will always retain those
properties, but in Windows, after opening a few folder they all revert to the
last setup.

Why couldn't Microsoft, use something alike Linux to keep folder properties,
they already use a file to keep the information such as the icon and the default
picture that will appear in the Thumbnail view. So why Microsoft couldn't just
extend the scope of this file to include such information as the default view,
dimension and class

Windows [XP] remembers 400 folder settings. When that number is reached =
some settings aren't retained any longer. You can change this to 8000 by =
adding this edit to the registry.

Run this edit, then reset your preferred folder options:
