I cant remember when I installed and activated XP on my pc.
Is there a way of finding out how long ago/when I activated it?

Administrative Tools|Event Viewer, then look under "Application" for an entry
toward the VERY START of the log. It its not been too long, there will be an
entry containing the date and time Windows XP was first activated.

Any advice I give is MY opinion, formed through trial and error or

If I'm wrong, point out my error, then move on. I try hard not
to be wrong, but I miss it sometimes, like we all do. If you don't

Newt,

Download Aida 32. www.aida32.hu . Under Operating System this will tell you
when it was installed. Gets you within 30 days of the activation date.

Greetings --

If you have WinXp Pro, you can run "Systeminfo" from a command
prompt to see when the OS was installed. There's no specific listing
for Activation, it's frequently the same as the install date.
