Hi -
I think Mpeg 1 is for VCD, Mpeg 2 is for SVCD, and AVI is
for DVD. At least according to my program. However, when
I burned a VCD, I got no sound at all on the disk, though
it played within the software. If you could save a
program as another file type (AVI) you might have success.

>I sometimes record TV programmes of interest to my hard
drive via a WinTV Nova t-USB. The programmes are saved in
Mpeg format and play back ok via Media player of Power
DVD. I have purchased a Sony DVD+RW as I thought it would
be a good idea to transfer the programmes to watch on TV
later on my DVD player. However the software that came
with the DVD transfers the video except the audio is out
of sync with the picture. I have been told by software
support (Sonic myDVD) that there is no way round this as
Mpeg format will not transfer to DVD. Surely this is what
DVD's are recorded in anyway? Can anyone help. Is my
purchase of a DVD burner really a waste of time?
