View Full Version : RealOne is RealPain - now what?

Ok, guys. RealOne doesn't work either. It worked until the point it was
ready to burn - then I clicked NEXT and >>NOTHING<< ... there it sat and
did .... >>NOTHING<<
So much for burning CDs with RealOne. Also I didn't see anywhere where
it takes the size of the contents you want to burn and measures it first.
What kind of burner has no idea of how many KBs or MBs you're burning???
Now I see it took complete CONTROL of my music files and we can't find any
way to give them back to WinAmp - my favorite program/player. I did NOT
check anything to give this right to RealOne. Now what? How do I return
them to WinAmp player? Why the hell do SW writers do this? What makes
them ASSUME everyone wants *their* SW to be the default player or default
anything?
Where/how is this changed in the RealOne program???? I don't LIKE and
don't want this software as my default "anything."

You can get Realplayer and Quick Time alternatives with all the rubbish
removed here:

So uninstall it and get rid of it. You downloaded it, what are you
complaining about?

Try,
Tools/preferences/content/media types and uncheck what you don't want Real
Player to handle.

You could have done the custom install and unchecked all of the media =
boxes at that point. Now do it in | tools | preferences.
By the way "RecordNow 4.5" works just fine on my computer.

Thanks! When I got the PC back that's the one I'll install. I'm still
waiting for the shipping box. I can't finish backing up my data because
the CD-R burner keeps destroying disks. The "built in" burner doesn't SEE
the CD disks I insert, so is worthless.

Someone on THIS NG said it was a MS product. I needed something that
WORKED to back up my data. I'm going by what I READ here. I looked under
programs, found it and tried it - so what are YOU complaining about?

I'm sure it works "just fine" on a lot of computers - but it doesn't work
"just fine" on mine.
