Hi,

I can't seem to get rid of this thing. I have XP Pro and Outlook 2003 as
wells as MSN Messenger 6.1. When I start my computer it's there (I do a
Ctrl-Alt-Del and see it ). I've run msconfig and disabled it but it still
comes alive. I even ran XP setup and supposedly uninstalled it but it's
still there. I'm getting extremely tired at having to do a Ctrl-Alt-Del
numerous times to disable it only to have it enable itself seconds later.
What's the trick to truly disabling ands/or getting rid of this thing???

Many Thanks In Advance
Abb N

Go to www.GRC.com and search for "shoot the messenger", download the
utility and turn messenger off

While you are there you might avail yourself of some of the other useful

Hi,

Well I've tried all solutions mentioned including "Shoot The Messenger" but
the damn thing keeps coming back to life. Even in my msconfig it's
supposedly "disabled". . As soon as I bring up IE, it comes to life. I
disable it, and move to a different URL it comes back to life. If I bring up
Outlook it comes to life. It just won't die!!!

Any more ideas??
Many Thanks

Take Care
