Windows update

I'm having problems with windows update, I hit the
windows update button then 10 seconds later it just goes
back to it, so its in an eternal loop! I have been sent
the windows xp Service pack 1a disc from Microsoft but
after extracting the files it comes up with an error
message "Set up could not verify the integrity of the
file 'update.inf' make sure the Cryptographic service is
running on your computer" I'm lost can anyone help

Hi Alan,

Suggestions:

Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 wintrust.dll

Correct the Cryptographic Service Error Message
