MSCONFIG

Is it possible to remove program entries that appear under the start-up =
tab in MSCONFIG. I don't mean disable them, I mean completley remove =
them. I have loads of entries for programs that are no longer used or =
needed and it's getting confusing. Thanks... (XPpro/SP1).

An automatic application start can be defined here:
- the WIN.INI, section [windows], entries "run=" and "load="
- the Registry keys
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\RunServices
- the folders
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL USERS\START MENU\PROGRAMS\STARTUP
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\{username}\START MENU\PROGRAMS\STARTUP
Find the item here and delete it.
