In the following key is a weird string (maybe not the proper terminology). I
think it happed when I got hijacked and I had just noticed it. It is not in
the HHLM section, though.

This is located in HHCU/Software/Microsoft/InternetExplorer/Main

"Search
Page"="http://%73%6E%73%75%6C%64%2E%74%2E%6D%75%78%61%2E%63%63/%73%2E%70%68%
70?%61%69%64=551"
"Search
Bar"="http://%73%6E%73%75%6C%64%2E%74%2E%6D%75%78%61%2E%63%63/%73%2E%70%68%7
0?%61%69%64=551"

I use the current Avant browser, but IE's search engine and home pages are
set to what I want. AdAware hasn't picked up this weird string. I have my
home page locked (via Internet Tools>Options) but some sites will break
though it and re-set my home page.

Can anyone, such as an MS-MVP provide the default entries above?

Many Thanks

change that address to any search engine you prefer, my default is
http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir.dll?prd=ie&ar=iesearch because I use
MSN. I think I'll change it while I'm here to google .com

Seems that your browser is hijacked. Setting the default strings =
manually won't help if the parasite is present in the system.
The Default is Search Page =
"http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir.dll?prd=3Die&ar=3Diesearch"=20

IMPORTANT:
Download CoolWebSearch destroyer from here:
http://www.merijn.org/files/CWShredder.exe

Next, reset the Internet Explorer Search engine to default settings [Tip =
