WINDVD Player crashes - system failure

Each time I download current Window XP critical updates,
Windows Media Player and WINDVD 4 crash and causes (?) a
system failure whereby I have to reboot, and either
restore the noteback back prior to the updates being
installed or wipe the hard drive and reinstall all
programmes. This has happened 4 times.

Any advice.

Exactly which update? Have you tried installing them one by one until you
find out which one causes the crash?

And which version of WMP are you running?

Do you have updates for WinDVD 4?
