I would like to know what is the format that I have to use to play my
movies transferred from VHS to CD player?
I am using XP OS and when I burn the cd I getting AVI format but is not
working in my home cd player, I already test the cd player with a friend cd
movie and is working, so, is the format that I am using

A better newsgroup for your post is rec.video.desktop.
Your CD player has video outputs? If so, it probably needs MPEG-1 format
(VCD).

Stand-alone DVD players usually support VCD (VideoCD) and
SVCD (SuperVideoCD) formats. You should check your player's
specifications to be sure. VCDs and SVCDs are disk formats,
not just file formats (VCD uses MPEG1 and SVCD uses MPEG2
like DVDs). CD-burning programs like Nero can create both
from VCD/SVCD-compliant MPEG files (create with other
MPEG1/2 encoders) and even encode them from other formats,
like AVI.
