Standby or Shutdown

Should you not be able to shut down the computer without problems? Why do
you not simply shut it down?

Thanks for all your messages.

Xale, I don't have problems sutting down the computer, I just want to
weigh up the pros and cons of using standby.

It is the internet activity that concerns me most - I like the idea of
shutting this off.
