I have upgraded form windows ME to windows XP and get the
following problems as of late:

1) The printer will not work inspite of uninstalling and
reinstalling the printer drivers and the USB drivers. The
printer driver cannot detect the printer. The XP
opperating system will not detect the printer. The Add
Printer command produces an error message to say that it
cannot perform the operation.

2) I also get frequent "Application Errors" with regards
to the memory e.g. The instruction at "0x76ce8787"
refrenced memory at "0x7ffd0000". The memory could not be
written.

I am assuming the two are connected since they started
occuring at the same time after my last automatic XP
update.

Can anyone help???

You kept the printer connected during the upgrade so you have corrupted the
drivers. If you missed out Step 4 at
http://www.coribright.com/Windows/Article%20One.htm
all you have succeeded in doing is reinstalling the corrupted drivers.

Go through my article once more ensuring that you complete each and every
step.
