I have STYLE XP and I am downloading various visual styles from
www.themexp.org. I unzip the download and there is a file with the
*.msstyles extension and there is often a folder that says SHELL and there
is a DLL in it. I just ignore this dll and I move the *.msstyles file in a
folder of mine.

Is this wrong? What does the Dll do? Its seems like its working without it.

The best way to apply a new visual style is from within StyleXP. Choose 'add
a new visual style' and point it to the zip folder containing the desired
visual style. It will be unzipped and placed in the themes folder.
