The procedure is actually pretty much as you described it.
In fact, since you and your wife are parrying over the
location of the task bar on a regular basis, locking it
would seem to be a waste of time, unless your young
children have computer privileges.

Re: sizing the taskbar vertically. Be sure that your
cursor is displaying the double-ended arrow before
attempting to resize the taskbar.
And that should be it!

Thanks, Emily. As far as the thickness of the taskbar is concerned, I went
back to the computer one more time and was able to reduce it to normal by
dragging. That's what is so aggravating. Every time I get into this
situation, it seems to be hit or miss as to getting it fixed, even when
following the correct procedures. Then I make matters worse by getting mad.
Aarggg!!

Yes, if something made me a bit crazy on the first
attempt, it seems to retain the ability to make me crazy
in the future. Just be sure you see the double arrow, and
you will have the task bar at your beck and call.

If it bothers you that much there is a very easy fix. You can each have
your own settings and avoid this in the future. Just setup your own user
setting.

She didn't do it as a matter of preference. She did it by accident. Again,
aaarggg!

Make a registry backup with erunt.zip. That way you should be able to
restore things to the state in which you last left them (or at least
when the backup was made).

She unlocked it by accident? Maybe SHE has psychic powers...

You think so? Sometimes it looks that way to me too. <G>
