Windows XP Pro, 2 weeks new.
Laptop system loses sound driver.
Why?
no virus, no software changes.
....just no sound.

The place to go with a 2 week new PC is to the place
where you purchased the item. Also if XP was preloaded
it is probably OEM.

You're not helping.
Why does XP screw up and how can I get sound to work
again.
Don't give me bull**** about a vendor.
Vendors don't help, Micro**** doesn't help.
Don't waste my time with bull****.

This is not bull****. It is plainly stated that Microsoft does not
support OEM's. If you want to whine go and see your Chaplain.
Also if a vendor gave you an installation of Windows without a
full install disk of Windows is the same as you buying an
automobile without windows. ____Buyer beware___
