Windows XP Print Problem

I am running XP-Home. I am unable to print from any
Windows application (Word, Excel, Outlook). However, I
can print from other applications such as Quciken etc.
Also, my printer (HP Deskjet 820cse) is operating
properly as judged by a perfect test page. I have
reinstalled my operating system and still unable to
print. Could this be a print spooler problem? Help

Are you using File, Print and selecting the printer or just hitting the
print icon on the toolbar?
