I have a number of USB cables, one of which I know is a USB 2.0 cable. Is
there some way to determine if a cable is a 2.0 or 1.1 cable? Either by
something on the cable, or by plugging it in and checking transfer speed?

2.0 has more shielding on the cable, but the 1.1 cable should work for 2.0.
I have a 2.0 cable for may camera and it works just as fast with the 1.1
cable.

If you look on the cables the markings are the same. I have at least
10
different USB cables and they all work with USB 2.0 and a few of them
were purchased before USB 2.0 even came out.
