i am changing computers and going from windows me to xp-

office 2000 package for the word processing etc. but the
one i am buying from tells me it won't work . has any one
had any experience of this . did it work or will i have to
buy the office xp version?

Office 2k works fine on XP, the person who tells you otherwise has no idea what they're talking about. The license agreement for the
Office software does require that it be uninstalled from the old system however.

The sales person you are dealing with is both woefully misinformed, and, if
on commission, GREEDY. Your Word is good to go on XP.

Hello
Make sure you are configured correctly in the setup wizard, sometimes
retyping your ID & Password will work.

You will have to look in the device manager and see if your modem is present
and trouble free.
Right click My Computer>Properties>Hardware>Device Manager

That is a common problem when upgrading, modem and sound problems.
You might need to visit the manufacturers website and download the XP
drivers for your modem.

Hope This Helps

lost the internet connection I had previously, there is a modem present but
XP doesn't seem to recognise there is one. I'm scared that if I keep
pressing buttons trying to configure etc then I'll really cause system
problems.

Modems are cheap enough.. buying a new one that is supplied with XP drivers
will overcome your problem..

Hi

You may have to upgrade the modem driver from the manufacturer's web site.
