When I try to access Windows XP programs such as System
Restore I get an error message saying "Memory Access
Violation in Module Kernal32 at.. [constantly changing
numbered locations]. Any clue what's wrong or how I can
go about repairing it? I haven't changed any hardware or
software recently and have not intentionally changed any
configurations. Thanks a million for any help.

I'd try a run of System File Checker.
Open a Command Prompt and type

sfc /?

for usage and syntax notes.

I'd use SFC /SCANNOW
Have you Windows XP CD-ROM to hand as you will likely be promted for it.

Martin.

Thanks anyway, Martin. I followed your suggestion and it
did not take care of the problem.

Kelly, I will follow your suggestions to try to correct
the problem when it occurs when trying to use System
Restore. Thank you. But perhaps I didn't make myself
clear: Memory access violations occur with at least six
different programs which unfortunately include Norton
Systemworks which prevents me from trying to let their
program do the hard work.
